J. Jerome Miller, Esq., Of Counsel - Attorney
Mr. Miller, graduated from The Florida State University in 1967 (B.S.) and 1970 (J.D.), and is AV peer rated by Martindale Hubbell Law Directory.
He served as Staff Counsel for the Florida Department of Natural Resources (1970-71), in the United States Air Judge Advocate Corp (1971-75), and in private practice as an attorney in Florida (1975-present).
He has extensive experience in probate, trust administration, estate planning, elder, local government and land use law.
He is admitted to the Florida Bar (1970), United States District Court, Northern District of Florida (1975), United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit (1981), and United States Supreme Court (1985).
He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Northwest Florida, serving as its President (1982). He is a past member and Chairman of the Attorney Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar for the First Judicial Circuit. He is a member of the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, the Florida Bar Local Government Law Section, and a past member of each the Florida Bar Probate Law Committee, and Florida Bar Probate Rules Committee. He is a member of the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association, serving as its President (2000-01), and recipient of its Paul Buchman Award as Florida’s Outstanding Municipal Attorney of the Year (2004-05).
He and his wife Caroline have a son, Ashley Miller, and daughter, Alison Lambrechts, and two grandchildren (Sophia & Taylor). All live near his home town of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, also in Okaloosa County, Florida.
